C O M P O S E R
William Eby is a 21-year-old composer studying at the Greatbatch School of Music in New York State. He has composed music for a wide range of ensembles, including solo, chamber, and large ensemble works. He also writes music using orchestral sampling, which he publishes online through streaming services and his website.
William’s compositional style is influenced by the cinematic qualities found in the works of contemporary film composers, as well as the profound depth of 19th-century romantic music.
Project highlights include “Rise Again,” which was premiered by the Houghton University Chamber Choir in April 2024 and was selected to be performed at the 2024 CFAMC Conference. Will’s piece The Life of a Loved One, was named Best Original Composition in the TI:ME 2022 Composition Festival, where Will was named an outstanding young composer. Will’s Piano Nocturne No. 1 and 2 were premiered by Steinway Artist Dr. William Newbrough at the Piano Studio Winter Recital at the Charles Finney School in Rochester.
